The men of Northwood and their friends are invited to the upcoming “Grind” BBQ on Saturday, April 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Northwood House. The “Grind” is a periodic get together for men to share a meal, be encouraged in their walk with God, and be strengthened by fellowshipping with other men. Pastor Rich Scherber, Executive Director of Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge, will be our guest speaker.
Pastor Rich Scherber has been the Executive Director of Mn Adult and Teen Challenge since 1992. When he came onboard the non-profit was $20,000 in debt and had been forced to suspend operations. Today, MnTC is one of the largest drug rehabilitation programs in the state with the ability to serve 750 people on any given day across nine locations. The program now employs more than 150 people and has assets exceeding 20 million dollars.
Pastor Rich earned his B.A. from Northwest University in Washington and his M.A. in Psychology and Counseling from the University of Wisconsin. Prior to his work with MnTC, he served as the Missionary Representative for all the Assembly of God Churches in the Orange Free State area of South Africa, and as a pastor and counselor in Virginia, MN. He and his wife have been married for more than 35 years, and they have two grown daughters; both are physicians with the Mayo Clinic.
The cost of the event is $7 and sign up is requested at the Welcome Table. Last day to sign up will be April 20. For more information, contact Men’s Ministry leader Robert Alexander at 763-229-7777 or firstname.lastname@example.org .
