Meals Ministry – It’s what’s for dinner.

There are few things in life as comforting as food. In times of need, we often neglect our dietary needs and default to whatever is quick and easy. When a challenging season of life arrives, the last thing many of us want to think about is “What’s for dinner?” This is what makes the Meals Ministry of Northwood Church such an incredible blessing to our community. Northwood’s Meals Ministry is comprised of volunteers willing to prepare and deliver food to families during times of illness, tragedy, life transition, and perhaps our favorite, welcoming new children into the world.

Our desire is to double the number of people willing to prepare meals in times of need. Rather than “too many cooks in the kitchen” the Meals Ministry flourishes most when “many hands make light work.” You don’t need to be a gourmet cook, in fact sometimes just arranging¬†for pizza to be delivered does the trick. All you need to be is willing and interested in helping serve others in their time of need. The group is organized in a way that makes meal requests a breeze, and most team members deliver less than once a month. It’s an easy and accessible way to be a huge encouragement to Northwooders¬†and their friends and family. If you are willing to add your name to the list of “on call” meal providers, please write “Meals Ministry” on your communication card, or contact Muriel Wenell at muriel@wenells.us.
