International Association for Refugees (IAFR) is launching Jonathan House, a housing ministry for asylum seekers in the Twin Cities. They are early in the stages and very excited about addressing their mission to create safe, stable housing for asylum seekers. As of today, they have received $18,000 of the launch fund goal of $45,000 and two new IAFR staff will be joining them here this month!
You are invited to a key event to help IAFR launch Jonathan House. Awaken Community Church in St. Paul is hosting a “Friendraiser” on June 28, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sarah Miller of IAFR will be interviewed at the event about Jonathan House and then there will be a time of brainstorming new ideas for the project. It’s a fun process! In our Northwood congregation are individuals with areas of expertise and experience that could be helpful in guiding the development of Jonathan House. Would you be willing to join them? It’s a Friendraiser, so no money will be asked for at the event. Instead, it’s about connections, ideas, and stories.
Register for the event at: www.bit.ly/JHouseFR. If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Sarah Miller at 763.360.1661 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
