Northwood Church is people. We are the church…

And having a building opens up opportunities to:

  • Become a gathering place for the community
  • Offer classes during the week
  • Increase our programming for children and youth
  • Create “our” worship space
  • Host community gatherings (educators, support groups, student groups)
  • Dream up new ways to bless the Maple Grove are through our facilities

Northwood’s Building Committee (formerly called the Future Home Task Force) is meeting regularly as Northwood moves towards building a ministry facility.  Since the church unanimously voted on May 21, 2017 to move forward with our building project, we have hired a local design/build contractor, Kinghorn Construction Co.  Kinghorn is meeting regularly with the church, as we select surveyors, site engineers and an architect to design Northwood’s new permanent home.  We will also be working to coordinate with the city of Maple Grove regarding utilities and construction timelines.  There is much work to be done!

Timelines are being formed.  By the end of 2017, we expect to have a fully designed building, laid out on our property on 105th Ave N in Maple Grove, just north of the recently completed Highway 610, south of County Road 81 and about one mile east of I-94.  We will begin working with the church to create funding for our permanent home in the fall 2017.

If things go according to plan, we should be breaking ground for construction in the spring of 2018, and hope to have our new doors open by Christmas 2018!  What a celebration we will have on that day, and we would love for you to join us.

If you have specific questions about the church’s building plans, you can contact our building committee chairperson at scott.fjellman@gmail.com.

Please join us in prayer for this exciting step forward, and come check us out at Northwood Church!
