Northwood Church is preparing to launch her 2nd capital campaign, “FJ2: For God and for Others” in mid-November. Based on Psalm 115:1, “Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name goes all the glory for your unfailing love and faithfulness,” the campaign will increase Northwood’s ability to pay off the land we purchased in 2009 and also set aside monies for our first ministry facility to be built in the near future. Special church wide FJ2 events are being planned for November 14 and 21 to explain the campaign and invite Northwooders to pray about their personal participation. Overall, there are two goals for the three year FJ2 campaign that begins January 1:
- 130 participants (118 participants have given to the current capital campaign)
- $600,000 in gifts and commitments
Over the past 33 months, Northwooders have shown great generosity during the recent economic recession by giving $442,743 to the current campaign. Due to the recession, the initial pledged amount of $927,000 was recalculated to $750,000 via a fall 2009 recommitment letter. As the original FaithJourney concludes on December 31 and “FJ2: For God and for Others” kicks off the new year, Northwood is grateful for every participant and gift given to help Northwood Church fulfill her vision to “help people believe in Jesus and become more like him.”
The following Northwooders are meeting regularly and welcome your questions: Grant Case, Cyndi Deneson, Brian Doten, Luis Ferreiro, Scott Fjellman, Bob Howington, Ben Just, Dan Koller, Scott Koppendrayer, Troy Nelson, and Ian Peterson. As God leads you and enables you, please help Northwood Church grow God’s fingerprint in Maple Grove and beyond.
