Good Friday and Easter

easter 2014

The Easter season is a special time for us. On Good Friday we reflect on Jesus’ death on the cross and remember his sacrifice for our sin. Then, on Easter Sunday we celebrate Jesus’ amazing resurrection from the dead!  Everything about who we are as Christ-followers is in Easter! Our salvation and God’s sanctification and everything we know about forgiveness  and sin is in Easter.  A terrible thing was done to Jesus the day he suffered and died on the cross but a wonderful gift was made possible to us that day – forgiveness of sin and eternal life. Let us worship together on Good Friday April 18, at 7 p.m. and on Sunday morning for Easter services at 9:30 and 10:50 a.m. Invite your family and friends to remember and celebrate with you.

Three Trees – Good Friday at 7 p.m.

Trees are essential to our lives for several reasons.  They provide us oxygen to breath, food to eat, medicine to heal, tools to build with and shelters to live in.  Without trees, life as we know it would not exist.  Believe it or not, trees are also essential in our relationship with God.  In fact, the story of God’s great love for us is the story of three trees and the Bible tells us all about them.  Do you know the story of the three trees?  It’s a story that can change your life.

 Resurrection Power – Easter Sunday 9:30 and 10:50 a.m.

In a demonstration of great power God raised Jesus from the dead on Easter Sunday.  That day God breathed life back into the lifeless body of his son.  The Bible tells us something wonderful and amazing about God’s resurrection power.  It tells us that “the same power which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead” is at work in those who believe in him.  Did you catch that?  God’s resurrection power is at work in us!   God’s resurrection power works in us to save us, change us and use us.   God’s power does what nothing or no one else can. . . Is God’s resurrection power at work in you?
