Text: Proverbs 7, Romans 6:14 – 18, 1 Thess. 4:3 – 7, Titus 2:11 – 14
Self – control is the ability to live with our natural human desires in check. It touches every area of life. It reaches into our emotions and how we express frustration and anger. It reaches into our finances and how we spend our money. It reaches into our sex lives and what we do with our bodies. It reaches into our speech and the words we say. Self – control means we don’t always do whatever we want but instead ask ourselves, “Does God want me to do this?” and then we respond in obedience. Ultimately, self – control helps us say “no” to sin and “yes” to God. How can we grow greater self – control?
