October 23 – 30
The Bible teaches us there is the universal church (all believers everywhere throughout the ages) and the local church (local assemblies of believers doing the work of Jesus Christ). Together, the universal and local church exist to bring honor to God and lead people to Jesus Christ. Historically and currently, both the universal and local church make a huge difference in the world. During 2016 Reach Out Week (ROW) Northwood will talk about how “One Church” impacts the world. The goal is to grow our heart for outreach and our understanding of what God is doing to change the lives through the church of Jesus Christ.
Mark your calendars for October 23 to 30! ROW plans include serving at CROSS in Rogers and a food drive, Bibles for Missions Thrift Center, Maple Grove Community Center and serving at Erica Koch’s youth ministry location in Brooklyn Center, special speakers and a prayer event to name a few and also Do More Day is back again this year!
On Sunday, October 30 Leith Anderson will be speaking. Leith is a distinguished Christian leader who regularly teaches in seminaries, addresses evangelical concerns with elected officials, counsels denominational executives, and provides theological and cultural commentary to leading news outlets. Anderson has also served on President Obama’s Advisory Council on Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships. During his 35 years as senior pastor at Wooddale they planted nine daughter churches one of which is Northwood Church. Leith retired on December 31, 2011
Join us for ROW and remember to always look for ways we can be a serving church in our community and in our everyday lives. Let us do good, to everyone. Let us do more.
