Description: We define “neighbor” as the person who lives next door or close by in our “neighborhood.” Jesus, however, defined neighbor in a different way. He defined “neighbor” as anyone in need who crosses our path. To explain his definition Jesus told a parable that is one of the most famous stories in the Bible. It’s called “The Good Samaritan” and it’s become synonymous in our broader culture with helping people in need. Even though “The Good Samaritan” parable is well known, it’s always good to be reminded of what it says about our neighbor and how important it is to demonstrate care and love to those in need around us. When was the last time you were a Good Samaritan for someone?
