The Parable of the Lost Son [Nov. 27, 2011]

Description: The Parable of the Prodigal Son may be the most loved parable Jesus told.  For centuries people have loved to read it and tell it because it’s everyone’s story.  Our own autobiography is lived out in the story of the son who left his home and went his own way while the father waited and waited for his son to “come to his senses” and come home to his loving arms.  Ultimately, the story of the Prodigal Son is the common story of human lostness and God’s great love and forgiveness.  And, just like the Parable of the Good Samaritan, it’s good to review and remind ourselves of the familiar story of the prodigal who broke his father’s heart but still experienced his father’s love and forgiveness.  Does that story describe you?
