Title:  When God doesn’t answer our prayers the way we want (or, when life

doesn’t go our way!)

Text: Philippians 4:6 – 7; 1 John 5:14 – 15; James 4:1 – 4

Description:    The Bible says a lot about prayer.  It tells us we have permission to pray about anything, anywhere, anytime (Philippians 4:6 – 7).  It also says, though, that we should pray “according to his (God’s) will” – in other words, we should always ask for God’s will to be done, not our will to be done.  The Bible says this because God’s will is always best. What this practically means is that some of the prayers we ask will not be answered the way we want because sometimes God’s will does not match up with our will.  Sometimes God graciously refuses our requests because he has something far better for us.  What do we need to do in such a situation?  Trust God.
