The prophecies spoken to Paul in Acts 21 came true within days of arrival in Jerusalem – Paul was arrested and put in chains and jail for the sake of the Lord Jesus. So, why did God let his chosen servant (22:14) suffer so much persecution and abuse? Was God powerless to stop it? Or, was this part of God’s plan all along? Did God have some special purpose in Paul’s suffering, persecution and abuse? What do you think? And, what about us? Could it be that like Paul, God allows us to go through suffering and persecution and abuse and lots of other things for his purposes? Is it possible that God is up to something greater when we suffer?
