How Churches Hear Gods Voice
The church in Antioch of Syria teaches us a lot about hearing God’s voice. One day as several church leaders were worshipping and fasting the Holy Spirit told them to “appoint Barnabas and Saul for the special work to which I have called them.” To make sure they heard God clearly and were not mistaken, church leaders fasted and prayed some more. Then, confident they had heard the Holy Spirit clearly, they “laid their hands on them (Barnabas and Saul) and sent them on their way.” This story teaches churches a lot about hearing God’s voice – about how God speaks and leads and how churches discern God’s voice from other voices. Today we’ll look at what Northwood can learn and do from the example of the church in Antioch of Syria because we want to be like them.
