In place of our regular worship services on October 28 we want to bless our community by mobilizing as many Northwooders as possible to serve in and around our community. By serving we hope to communicate the love of Jesus Christ in tangible ways to others in our community. You can join us by taking a look at the projects listed below, when you find one that interests you click on the button to register.
We will start Serve Day at the Maple Grove Community Center Gymnasium with a short gathering at 9:15 am before heading out to our projects. Projects will end at different times according to the work being done.
Childcare (birth- 3 years): Many projects will be suitable for young children and families are encouraged to serve together. For those 3 and under we will have childcare available at the Maple Grove Community Center from 9:15 to 11:45 am. (If using the provided childcare you must participate in an onsite project at the Community Center.)
Provide childcare for infants and toddlers at the Maple Grove Community Center so parents can participate and serve others. Session 1 9:30-10:30, Session 2 10:30-11:45, 5 Volunteers/Session, 12 years and older. (Background Check Required to serve in Childcare.)Help with Childcare
Bring October Food Drive donations to CROSS in Rogers and help weigh, sort, shelve and store donated food. 9:30 -12:00, 20 volunteers, 7 years and older.Help with the Food Drive
Create Christmas ornaments for CROSS to use on giving trees at area churches and organizations. Materials provided but it would be helpful if you bring your own scissors to the Maple Grove Community Center. 9:30 -12:00, 20 volunteers, all ages.Help with Ornaments
Help with cleaning chairs, tables and other spaces in the building we call “home.” 9:30 -12:00, 12 volunteers, 8 years and older.Help at MGCC
Work alongside MATC clients at the women’s short term house in Minneapolis while making cards, creating blessing/prayer boxes, praying or serve a meal and help clean up the kitchen. Outdoor work may be needed, weather permitting. You may rotate through the different options on site. 9:30 -12:00, 20 volunteers, 5 years and older.Help with Teen Challenge
Pray privately and with others as you walk around the Community Center Lake. A prayer guide will be provided. 9:15 and 10:45, Unlimited volunteers, all ages.Be part of the Prayer Walk
Make sandwiches for homeless people and support the amazing ministry of Larry Law. Goal is to make 1000 sandwiches. Maple Grove Community Center. 9:30 -10:45, 20 volunteers, 5 years and older.Help make Sandwiches
Baby bottle project, Thanksgiving card project, cleaning & tidying indoors & raking outdoors (Please bring a rake.) Minneapolis, 10 volunteers, 8 years and older.Help at the Women's Center
Create “Kid Packs” of food for children in area schools who live with food insecurity. Packing will be done at the Maple Grove Community Center. 9:30 -12:00, 20 volunteers, all ages.Help making Kid Packs
Rake leaves and clean yards for seniors in Maple Grove and our surrounding communities who need help. 9:30 -12:00, Unlimited volunteers, 7 years and older.Help with Yard Clean Up
Worship with Sonlight Community Church in the Senior Center at the Community Center. Bible Study Hour begins at 9:30 a.m. and Worship Service begins at 10:30 a.m., Unlimited volunteers, all ages.Worship with Sonlight
