A Community You Can Grow With

Northwood Church is committed to the simple but challenging mission of becoming like Jesus together. We gather on Sunday mornings to worship Jesus, learn from the Bible, and encourage each other with testimonies about how God is at work in our lives. We also connect with each other mid-week through groups and programming. Learn more about our team and culture below.

We believe that we are in process. Each of us is on the life-long journey to become more like Jesus. Though we are all at different places in this journey, there is always more in store for those who follow Jesus. None of us have arrived.

Our journeys all start in different places, but they each have the same trajectory towards the likeness of Jesus. And our progress on this journey is marked by the character traits modeled by the life and lifestyle of Jesus.

We believe that our journey towards Jesus must be done together. None of us are able to do it on our own. It is only by engaging in Christian community, corporate worship, and accountability, that we are molded into the likeness of Christ.

Northwood Staff

Brian Doten

Senior Pastor

Brian has been the Senior Pastor at Northwood since 2005. As a pastor’s kid, Brian has always loved the church which is one of the reasons he has always loved being a pastor. Brian loves to teach the Bible and see people become Christians and follow Jesus Christ wholeheartedly. Brian is married to Kris who is a licensed professional clinical counselor. They have three adult children who live in the Twin Cities and Dallas, TX. They also have two grandsons. Brian loves landscaping and tries hard to make his lawn look like Target Field.

Allie Quandt

Office Manager

Allie joined our team as Office Manager at Northwood in March of 2024. Allie loves that her job allows her to play a part in supporting all the different ministries at Northwood. Allie lives in Maple Grove with her husband Carl. In her free time she enjoys playing board games, playing with her puppy, and spending time with her family at the lake.

Jon Dack

Child & Family Pastor

Jon has been the Children and Family Pastor since 2013. Jon is passionate about helping kids come to know and love Jesus, and equipping families to share the love of Jesus with the next generation. Jon and his wife have 7 kids ranging in age from 2-16 years, and Jon loves doing house projects in his free time.

John Harrison

Youth Pastor

John joined our team in June of 2023. John loves helping students grow in their faith and walking alongside them as they develop meaningful relationships with God, their leaders, and other students. John is married to Lynnea and he loves spending time with family and friends, playing sports, card games, board games, and really just anything he can be competitive with.

Isaac Holst

Worship Pastor

Isaac has been serving as our Worship Pastor since August of 2018. Isaac is passionate about leading people in Holy Moments of worship and connecting people to God through music. He is also a huge fan of coffee, nerdy board games, and winning at said board games.
