Northwood Student Life

At Northwood Church, we believe that students are not just the future of the church, but that they already are the church. We exist to help students become more like Jesus together. We empower and inspire students to love, serve, share, and become.

We.

Every Student Belongs

Students are each on their own journey, and we want students to know they don’t walk alone. Students at NSL grow in faith together, with other students and leaders who want to see them flourish in their relationship with Jesus.

Are.

Every Student Empowered

We believe that students at NSL are already a part of God’s church, fully capable of ministry and leadership in God’s kingdom. We believe it is our mission to help empower and develop the gifts and abilities God has placed within each student who comes to NSL.

NSL.

Every Student Fully Alive

NSL is about more than just Wednesdays; we desire to build friendships and mentorship that last a lifetime at NSL. And we pray that the spiritual growth taking place at NSL leaks out into every part of our students’ lives, revitalizing this generation.

First Wednesdays

On the First Wednesday of each month, we do a special version of NSL that goes a bit longer and is easy to invite friends to. We’ll eat a free meal, worship together, hear a message, and have time in small groups before we dive into our First Wednesday event!

Groups

Every non-First Wednesday, we have Groups. On Groups nights, we will have a delicious free meal, a truth-filled message, and extra time in our small groups.

What to Expect

Small Group Leaders Who Care

Every NSL student is assigned to a small group leader who is passionate about getting to know their students and helping them navigate the hard questions they face. Our small group leaders are trained to connect with students relationally, and to help show them how to let the gospel transform their lives.

A Safe Place for Questions

We’ve learned that students tend to be especially gifted with curiosity, not only wondering about what is true, but why something is true. We believe that these students’ questions need to be engaged in a safe space. Therefore, we are committed to not only equipping students with strong answers to hard questions, but doing so with love, and compassion.

A Focus on Outreach

We believe our students are capable of kingdom impact. We make sure to include teaching and events in our programming that offers students opportunities to invite friends and share their faith, as well as give back to their community.
